have any of you guys been checkin out the coverage of E3? some hot games comin out soon, for all systems. the new cod 4 footage looks absolutely crazy, w/ the sniping mission and camo outfits. i can't wait for mario kart wii, it's comin w/ a steering wheel to put the wiimote into loll

anybody seen anythin else cool from the show?

IMHO best game coming out.

Fallout 3 looked pretty good. Rock Band looked nice, but offline multiplayer could be a hassle (If there is any). CoD4 looked nice, I take back what I said about non-WW2 CoD games sucking. There were tons of others but I don't want to list 'em all.

TBH I think this is the best year for video games, as for them being released. I think it's the most great games ever released in the last 6 months of the year.

Also, has anyone heard anything about Too Human yet? I really want it Very Happy

Watched the conferences. Nintendos one sucked complete ASS. Sony's was the best and has a promising lineup

I didn't mind the GameCube. Well... I only have 6 games on it. The whole Resident Evil series, which kicks ass. That's it.
This is what I made of the Nintendo conference and what I wrote on another forum, sorry if it is a long read but it's just my opinion:

Well I was considering getting a Wii for family purposes mainly. A bit of family fun ya know?
But I have to say, this was a disapointment. Where has Nintendos charm and fun playability factor of their games gone? I'll tell you where. Into a shitload of education and cookery "games?" Check it out

The conference started off with about 10 to 15 minutes of impressive statistics showing the scale of how much the DS has sold and the Wii's increasing sales. Introducing a much broader scale of gamers, from adults, to elderly, to single parents the works. Impressive stuff. Then comes a very cliche' montage of all these people playing the Wii like "it's the best, it's changed my life" etc etc. We haven't seen any proper gameplay footage yet.
Then introduced was the Wii Zapper. A lightgun type controller shaped in a futuristic gun shape designed to help slay the dead in Umbrella Chronicles (which we got about 10 seconds of throughout the entire show) and upcoming games like Medal of Honor which will have an online mode with up to 32 players. It will retail at $19.99. Not an essential product, but a neat one none the less. Well... basically it's a WiiMote and Nunchuck in a plastic casing shaped like a gun.
Some other games being released is WWE 2008 for the DS and Wii. A Ninja Gaiden game on DS making use of the Stylus. Other Wii games such as Mario vs Sonic Olympic Games and Metroid Prime 3 make great use of the Wii-Mote.
EA Games are releasing a healthy dose of sports games that will all be playable online around the world. But what was irritating was that the host announced it as if it was the first system to go online. Xbox, Ps2, 360, Ps3 and even the GC have already done this. It should have been implemented a while ago IMO. An exciting upcoming release in my opinion is the return of Guitar Hero. With Guitar Hero III for Wii you will get a Les Paul Wireless guitar to jam on. Sounds great, great stuff.

Next announced after another montage of people playing Wii (which was so cheesy) came the announcement of Mario Kart for the Wii, scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year. What's more, at the same time the "Wii-Wheel" is released. a simple wireless wheel to help those get the most out of the game. No price was announced. Again not needed, but a fun little accessory I suppose.
Also announced was Super Mario Galaxy with strange features like running upside down and setting strange gravity settings amongst a bunch of other options. Scheduled for release November 12th. (America)
Then IMO it started to go downhill. Yes, what was before this was the best parts.

DS Cookbook. I guess aimed at mothers or whatever. MySims by EA. A Wii and DS version of the Sims which imo seemed no different. Customizable options and players etc.

Then came the educational games. Games that will help your spelling and grammar and "help improve everything". Yes, that's what he said. So expect to be able to learn how to get a girlfriend, become a millionaire and essentially rule the world.

Then came the REAL funny stuff. Wii Fit. An exercise game that didn't really look like a game. More like a cheap way of excersising without actually doing anything. People may say it is a way of excersising without going to the gym but if you watch it, they didn't look like they were excersising anything. Except perhaps the audiences' patience. Check the screenshot I grabbed. Hardly looks like a game.

The board you use is called the "Wii Balance-Board"... One of the "games" literally involved you balancing.." is hardly the game that will keep you up all night, nor will you wish to show it to your friends. Didn't even look like fun. Who want's to just stand there balancing or swaying left to right? Anyone?

Ok yes it may appeal to some but it's hardly going to make you want to buy the console. So you can do very easy easy excerses. Waving your arm around isn't exercise. Other excersises consisted of swaying left and right. The thing wasn't even in sync ffs!! I know it is probably a BETA build of the game but they even said "It isn't running how it should do" That's bad...

I am not the only one to have these opinions. As I was watching and listening the forums were being filled with people saying "this is the worst Nintendo E3", "Wtf?! is Nintendo Schooling us now?" and "Ok... where are the actual games?!!"

I can see their point. Majority of this conference showed a half assed way of excersising that didn't look at all tiring or even worth it. Many users claimed Nintendo are going to casual and not actually concentrating on games as such. More trying to tell us how to run our lives and if you were expecting some major footage of REUC. Think again, as I say I only saw about 10 seconds. Admittingly looked good but that was the ONLY highlight IMO. Well to be fair, all the actual what I considered GAMES, look ok and will appeal to an audience. All this exercise and cookery classes.. wtf?!

At least with Sony and Microsoft they got straight to the games... which is all you want to see. Lets be honest. I mean do you want to game, or exercise?

Ps3 for me, purly for Metal Gear Solid 4 and GTAIV and other stuff like the free online etc.
