ok, my fix, after several frustrating hours, was quit simple. I needed to reinstall the latest DirectX 9 data, otherwise the game doesn't launch. yes, I have Vista, yes I have DX 10 cards, but you have to have BOTH on the system.

I will say that:
The game is graphically stunning...
the game play is not so straight forward... you have to remember stuff you passed previously
The game is downright creepy in spots. You can tell something BAD is going to happen, and when it does, it is genuinely freaky!
the Devs were sneaky... stuff is hidden all over.
allowing you to choose what to do with the little collector girls is cool... do you save them at your own cost? or do you throttle their little necks and take what you need to sustain yourself?
Haven't had to fight a Big Daddy, yet... but you get to see one pwning an NPC... and it's pretty bad assed.
9/10 for all the good stuff... -1 for the hassle of having to jump thru hoops to get the game to cooperate (but satisfyingly worth it... sooooo worth it)
Last thoughts.... DX 10 is here, and hold on to your butts... they are about to get kicked! If this 1st DX10 game looks this good, the upcoming titles are going to change how you look at video games forever. UPGRADE THAT HARDWARE.

Well I no longer have it in my hand its in my PC lol heres a screenie it probably will not do the game justice 10k show us a dx10 screenie similar sort with fire and water.

I'd like to see a PC and 360 comparison done on Gamespot to see the differences. The demo looked beautiful on my plain ole 36 inch Toshiba that's about 10 years old. I'm sure it would look amazing in hi-def.

Well I decided I was going to rescue the little girls from the big daddy robots.But when you pick one up you think holy poop I hope the antidte works, and I am doing the right thing,ok its only a game.Creeeeeeepy

hahahaha Holy crap it looks sooo much better on PC! Nice find dude.
I don't normally get into these kinds of FPS games but I think I might give this one a shot.

ok, here's one... although once the game got windowed, it wouldnt go back to full screen without quitting/restarting.
I had to put this is paint, as well, there's no ingame screeny button.

damn, y'all... this game gets downright grotesque! I just killed Andrew Ryan with a GOLF PUTTER! and it broke off and got stuck in his HEAD. FFS!!!
