One of my brothers advised me to download the demo, which I did today. I will install it tomorrow.

There is a known fault with the game and ati driver

Important note for ATI users: You must download and install the latest Catalyst drivers (7.9 or later) in order to be able to run the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars demo. The next revision of the ATI drivers is going to include the hotfix.

Got it working, I did have to d/l the latest ATI drivers to get the game to work.

I just downloaded it and played for quite awhile. I didn't like it. It's not my type of game. I'm sure all the BF fanatics will love it because it plays just like them. I'm just not much into the "small part of a big war" games.

The game was just too much like BF2 which I have grown to hate due to the sheer unfairness that it is. The game seems poorly optimized and even on my new system:

Core 2 Duo E6420
2GB Ram
8800GTS

It still runs 'meh'. I mean if my system can run Oblivion at 1280x1024, all on highest at around 40+ fps always (even outside) I'm sure this should as it is basically the Doom³ engine. The graphics seemed sloppy and really alliased (jagged edges) and looked aweful IMO. It has some potential if they put work in it but I got really overwhelmed by how much was going on at one time, I was going back, forth, flying up every what way but loose and I couldn't make head nor tail on what the hell was going on Razz

Waterboy, Gomer, Baker and I played it last night on a server and the one thing we all came away with is that while it has some cool weapons and vehicles the STROG are far more powerful in their weapon class than the humans which gives it an unfair balance.

Their guns don't use ammo for the most part and their "death ray" is real powerful and regenerates much faster than the human side.....this though may also depend on the rank or experience points one has.

Either way, not something I'll buy at this point.

Well after playing the game for about 4.5 hours total, I had to vote NO. Just did nothing for me also. Definitely could not spend $50 on this game. $20 maybe.
