Should be a breeze to run. Loads of people are satisfied about not HAVING to have Shader Model 3 cards to be able to run the game. Bioshock, Rainbow Six Vegas, UT3 you have/will need a SM3.0 card.

Shader Model 3.0 cards are generally from the nVidia 6600GT upwards. But newer cards have more optimized and refined versions of it, resulting in much more efficiant work on the card which in turn results in better performance. I know for ATi the 9800 Pro does not support Shader Model 3.0. I think all the cards after that did. I am not sure about ATi though.

But for example a 7300 will have Shader Model 3.0 but if the cards clock speeds are low, then you won't get playable performance with it anyway. Like if you have an 8600GT, yes sure you will have DirectX10, but the performance IN DirectX10 isn't that great so it's hardly justified.

Basically, if you have a 7800 series or above you should be fine. For ATi, I think around an X1800 or higher, but I could be wrong as I haven't used ATi in years. If you have a 7600GT or something similar, even though it has Shader Model 3.0, I wouldn't recommend playing in it, I would put it down to 2.0.

The games requirements seem quite broad, suggesting it is well optimized. I mean a 9800 Pro (5+ year old card) is listed, albeit in minimum requirements but even so, that's impressive if it can run it at a playable framerate.

You should be able to push it. That's the card I used on CoD2. Apparently it's well optimized....we'll see in 2 hours.

(BTW that card IS SM3.0 compatable)

The only real tool to test it is to try the demo, in less than 1 hour Smile

Anyone have a nice dual core processor they want to sell? Seriously, I'm looking to buy one.

It really hit me that I needed to upgrade when I did the specs test and I got this:

Processor: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
Comparing your CPU AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ (running @2212MHz) with the requirement AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 (running @2400MHz)
• Your processor is significantly less powerful in raw performance

I'll have the graphics card covered in the upcoming months, so that's not a problem.

I'm not sure what brand you're looking for (AMD vs. Intel) but NewEgg has some nice deals for the X2 processors, most are under $200.
