INTEL Processor question

What is the difference between all of the 775 processors? Will all mobo that handle 775 processor be interchangable with all 775 processors?
I am currently running a Pent D 930. Can I upgrade the processor to a Quad Core or one of the newer dual cores? Just curious.

To check what processors you can use:

We would have to know your exact motherboard model and what bios version you have or what model PC if it is a bought system.

If needed, do you feel comfortable updating the bios?

Then would have to look for bios updates and or what is supported by the board with the bios version.

If your PC is a factory assembled system (Dell, Gateway, ect...) then you would need to look at thier website.

If your PC was custom built (by you, friend, ect...) then you would want to look at the motherboards manufacturer’s website.
