Can I run two Radeons on an sli board with an Nvidia bridge or does it have to be a Crossfire mb ??

I ask because I can't seem to find any nice Crossfire mb's.

Thanks

sorry freak, that's not quite correct. you see, you could put a crossfire capable card in an SLI capable pc, but the pc would laugh so hard at the situation it would get hiccups to the point of nausea and actually throw up the ATI card.

hahahahah

Seriously though, I know Intel has a chipset out that works with both technologies, but I'm 99.9% sure that there isn't an nVidia chip that does. Seriously... That would kind of be counter productive wouldn't it be considering they own the SLI tech. Smile

That's because nVidia SLi rules the gaming world. Wink Laughing

Thanks guys.

That's pretty much what I figured as I couldn't find any reviews on an nvidia mb where someone posted they were running ATI cards.

The ATI cards seem to be a bigger bang for the buck so I started to question my original computer upgrade.

Back to the drawing board Smile

I beg to differ...
Since the release of the 8800GT, Nvidia has the better bang for the buck. If you read any reviews, the results show this card on the heals of the 8800GTX and typically faster than the current 8800GTS 640mb model. And the GT is less than both of these cards. In fact the top of the line ATI card the 2900XT is greater than $400, and the 8800GT typically beats that. So if bang for buck is what you're looking for stop no further, the 8800GT is the way to go! In fact their so hot, stores are having trouble keeping them in stock!

Yup. I got the last one off of Amazon. After a lot of research, I could find nothing better as far as price and power than the 8800GT. You should definately keep your eye out for one.

great question

pciE is backwards compatible as far as I know.

my humble opinion? hold out for the 9800's, or, I'll shell out the $$$ for a 9800, and sell you my 8800GTX at 60% current market value.
