Vent help |
|
|
For some reason it seems as though I have to shout to get my mic to pick up my voice. Is there something that I am missing? I have increased the sensitivy in Vent, but that didn't really change anything. Is there a trick in Vista to correct the problem?

I had the same exact problem and one of the other uZa guys helped me.
I can't tell you exactly where it is as I'm not at home right now, but go into control panel / sound and locate your Mic (Possibly on the 'Recording' tab?) and there should be like an advanced button. Somewhere in there is a 'Mic Boost' option that you have to check.
Hope tha thelps... I'm flying blindly right now

still running XP
don't think it matters if you're running XP or VISTA .
saw this "same problem" on another forum where people had to put the sensitivity very low since the last update .
XP and VISTA users

i had that issue. i have my sensitivity set to 3. setting it to 1 or 2 activates the comm if a fly farts next door. set it above 5 and the mic wouldn't pick up a dump truck slamming into a nitro glycerin plant.
weird.

Wow, I am surprised your sensitivity is set so low.
My PC is set at 90.
If I were to put mine on 85 the mic would stay keyed up always.
My OS is XP Pro 64bit, with all updates.
Must be the differences between PC's and set-ups.
I think our other three PC's are set from 60 to 90 also.

Could also be your mic, I just recently got a new head set and was told to turn the volume down
I had to drop my outbound in vent from +6 to a -6 and the sensitivity from 3 to 50(could possibly go even higher, was working at 80 still), just had to get used to the different sound coming from the speakers.
