Nice now can some one just verify for me lol that the beta driver for the 7800 is the same as for the 8800 as I thought they might be different but it appears not. This way I should be able to bung my cards in and the drivers are already there.Or do I need to uninstal the driver fit the new cards then reinstall.

ALWAYS do a clean driver install any time a new card is inserted into the PC. Even if they use the same driver.
1. Uninstall Video card driver.
2. Instead of rebooting, shut the PC down.
3. Remove old card, insert new card.
4. Boot up and install the driver fresh.

I use Driver Cleaner Pro. It's a free download and I've never had any trouble with it.

Got them, installed them. I am impressed half life2 cod 4multi player with everything on is excellent same as tf2. Crysis picked everything at medium but it plays real smooth at 1600x1200 just want the sli patch still.Only odd thing I noticed is my cpu which has sat at idle at 40 degrees for 2 years is now idling at 49 or 50 I cannot see why new cards would do that.

OK love this card! BUT it does run a tad bit hot! I had to turn up the fan to 60% using ravtuner.
Can't run the fan at 100% cuz the dang thing sounds like a jet engine! I hope I didn't get a bad card, thinking bout getting an aftermarket cooler maybe a Zalman or something...
Oh well this thing flies, what eye candy!

I looked this up before I purchased mine, and everyone said the same thing so it's not just you. Most of them just turned the fan speed up and called it a day.

I turned everything on and both cards 1600 x 1200 and get 40 fps at times so I am either setting up wrong or expecting way too much. I have had to back off the settings so I may as well kept my old cards for multiplayer. They are great for single player though with everything turned on.Not seeing any overheating problems.

Ren- when I was running my twin Nvidia 7600GT's in SLI I didn't see that much of improvment! I had to back off on resolution in some games, either they were not SLI compatible or just didn't support SLI!
Oh well, single 8800GT is the way to go...
