Fleetweek

I was in San Francisco on business 10 or so years ago and someone said it was Fleetweek. I had never heard of it. Turns out, it's incredible stuff - planes being launched from a carrier under the Golden Gate Bridge, planes flying through the buildings, all kinds of Navy boats cruising around. We never get to see stuff like that in Pittsburgh, so I sat and watched all day - missed an important meeting too. Check out THESE pictures from the 2007 edition of Fleetweek. Take notice of the visual distortion on the close up shot of the Blue Angles F-18 tail - intense.

I remember one time hearing about one of the jets hitting a boat while flying under the bridge.

Thank you for the compliments, but I did not take the pictures - I came across them and thought they would be good for all to see. I'm sorry to give the impression that I took them, and now that I re-read my original post I can see I didn't specify that I wasn't the photographer.

wow i cant belive the blue angles can do those stunts and not crash into each other cause they seem to cut it so close everytime
