w00t! I have a 6850 Core 2 Duo (3.0Ghz) I have gotten it to run stable at 3.31 Ghz with stock cooling. I believe that I can get it to 3.4...maybe 3.5 Ghz. Right now I am working on tweaking my RAM. I have had it up to 840 Mhz, but for stability purposes I am cloking it down to 825. I am hoping to get it up over 840 Mhz. I have gotten the FSB to run at 1455 MHZ. That is up from the stock 1333. I just can't wait to hook up a 8800GTX.

MotherBoard = ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus LGA775 with 650i chipset.
Processor = Intel 6850 Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 Ghz
RAM = 2GBs of Corsair XMS2 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
Video Card = eVGA 7800GTX
HDD = 2 WD Caviar SE16 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s in a RAID 0 array
OS = Vista 64 bit Home Premium
I use the BIOS to crank up the different bus speeds. I can have it auto OC, but I prefer to do it manually. I seem to get better performance when I do it myself.
The 680i Chipset only offered very minimal performance increse and cost a ton more than the 650i trim. If I were buying today then I may future proof my system with a quad core offering. Maybe something in the new Penryn chip flavor.

did you try lowering the speed but increasing the multiplier? you can usually get a bit more speed and stability.
nice job so far. now you need to post benchmarks

I have not tried that. I guess I was thinking that the multiplier was locked because it is not an Extreme Addition processor...I could be wrong about that though.
Since I am running Vista my Benchmarks may not be all that great.

CMOS- have u tried "clock gen" program? It allows u to change a lot of the settings.
Doesn't that MB use "AI" as the overclocking ulitilty? I thought u could change the multiplier through it?
Merry Christmas!

Yes it does. I prefer to manually control it. It always seems like I can get more speed by doing it on my own. There is a setting for changing the multiplier, but I prefer to eck out all that I can from the FSB. I have the RAM unlinked right now and clocked to 830 Mhz. It seems that my system is stable that way. BTW, I am approaching the 3.4 Ghz clock speed! w00t!
