That would be awesome if you live somewhere that it never rains very hard, or snows hard for that matter... Any idea how much water would get in those cars if it was pouring down rain, wind blowing toward the door that had to be opened, and as slow as those doors move???

As for doing it with a tailgate, I'll have to pass as well... I use my tailgate as a driveway workbench, a bed extension, and sometimes as a bench seat...

But I do have to admit that it's a cool idea... Can they just make them open and close faster???

Ok, so they can produce the standard model disappearing door and a Redneck version (regular). Wink Laughing That is pretty cool!

I don't know, I thought < 4 seconds for opening or closing was fairly quick, but of course my perception may be different. My mini van's auto sliding side door takes longer than that. There probably has to be some built in safety sensor that requires a particular speed for door closing so that if something is in the way (such as a child's hand), it can stop in time.
