Looks good all but your memory. Your board's max memory is 8gb. The memory you chose is only 512 and maxes out at 2 gig total. Don't know what OS you are going to run, but if you choose a 64bit OS like Vista or Windows XP Pro X64 you might want to consider running at least 2 gigs of ram with very near option of another 2 gigs. I would go NO LESS than 1 gig sticks. I upgraded from 2-1gig sticks to 4 gigs and noticed a big difference.
Especially Vista. Vista is a major ram hog. Lots of people while gaming, like to run with 4 gigs minimum to pick up the needed slack. Just something to think about.
Choice in OS is up to you. I personally haven't tried Vista yet, I hear some really like it, and I hear others hate it. I upgraded from 32-bit XP to 64-bit XP.
I have had no issues with it yet, and besides, old habbits are hard to break.

Pretty good choices. If you can wait, the new 9800 GX2 is expected to hit the market March 11th, of course the PS in that case may not be beefy enough, but I can't remember the power requirements. It'll probably be priced at the original 8800 Ultras, but said to be nearly 30% faster.
Another factor is the length of the video card. TenK recommends a full ATX case with a GTX card, in fact I read one of the Newegg reviews and said that the GTX did NOT fit in that case.
I've never heard of that ram before, and I always go with names that I trust. And I would go with a minimum of 2G.

Thanks for the ideas Spazz and CS.  They helped a lot. I will go with a full tower case and get the better ram. I also had a question about the PS, with just one cd/dvd drive, one hard drive, and the 8800gtx video card, will a 500 watt power supply be enough? Also, what benefits do you get from the 64 bit version of XP? As for the 9800 GX2, I already went way over budget by going for the 8800 GTX instead of the 8800 GT.

I don't see why a 500 watter wouldn't work, unless you plan on running in SLI with two video cards, then you might want a bigger one. As for XP X64, this might help explain it....

My reference to the PS was in regards to the 9800, but since that isn't considered then 500W should be fine.
I think the main thing to take from the MS post (for us gamers) is that a 32-bit OS will only utilize or see around 3.5 Gb of RAM max, where a 64-bit OS can reference more. So since Spazz has 4 G of RAM, his OS sees all of it.

Woot!!! I've got my new computer up and running now.
Intel core 2 Duo E6850
EVGA 780i sli motherboard
EVGA 8800GTX videocard
4GB Corsair Dominator PC2 8500 ram
Seagate Barracuda 250 GB hard drive
Antec P182 case
Thermaltake 600 watt PS
Win XP Pro 64-bit OS
I had to send 2 Gb of the ram back because one stick was bad, but other than that the build went very smooth. What a difference!!!! I love it so far and hope to have all my games loaded up soon. See you on the battlefield!!!
I can't wait to feel the sweet sting of CG's knife!!
