Have a look at the built in widows movie maker first.I have never done anything like that but I have seen it mentioned as being easy to use in other forums.

Depending what you use to video, you can open it with ConvertXtoDvd. Then it should be in dvd format for you to burn with nero onto dvd. The ConvertXtoDvd converts almost any format into dvd format.

I like that, or winavi video converter. But if you just want to burn it to dvd, use nero to burn dvd video files, and then select the files. You wont need to decrypt a movie you made yourself.

As far as movie editing, once you outgrow the built-in Windows Movie Maker, you should look at Cyberlink PowerDirector, Corel VideoStudio, or Pinnacle Studio. They are the most popular for taking raw footage from a video camera and making nice professional quality movies with titles, chapters, transitions, special effects, etc.
