Love the lens. Did you have any trouble seeing your depth of field in your viewfinder or lcd? I will post some images up for you. What do you want to see, or are interested in?( I have 54,152 pics in my database.) f8

Thanks for the link, pretty amazing.
I did have some issues with focusing and trying to get the color or brightness right for awhile...still have issues..... I always use the viewfinder with that camera. I had problems with the first pic as is always seemed to bright or washed out with the white flower. And especially with red or purple flowers...had issues getting the color right.... and my dogs can't sit still.....
I did mess around with settings today...just forgot which ones i used...i took over 200 pics today....
Any tips on taking pics with flowers...I enjoy doing that. Or suggest what I can do different with mine. Or if you have any of yours to post. I love Virgin Sacrifice's work...very talented. One day I will take pics like that....one day.....

spider silk |

Holi, those are some awesome macroes. Hope to discuss them with you soon. The spider silk is one tough shot as,I know, the focus is difficult to obtain. My favorite, for composition, is the stamen shot with two leaves. Nice job..My other favorite, for color, is the first one, light green and white floral with vases and some ivy. The set up on the Anenome would be very interesting to hear about also. I like the concept of the strawberry into milk shot. Have you done any other action macros? f8

For me its mostly trial and error too. For lighting I never use flash but rather lean to using reflectors or even small flashlights. Some of these shots were taken in a Macro class with black backdrops. The instructor furnished us with cloth for backdrops and such.
The best part of digital, is that it costs nothing to shoot. So shoot a lot. If you like a subject, use 1/3 over and under bracketing. By letting more or less light in one is bound to be right on when you get back to your laptop. Also, if things are looking dark or too bright, adjust your +/- setting to 1 stop over etc until your captured shots look right on. As far as color, I too have problems with that. In my water lily shot, the flower was a deep blue and yet came out purple. That has to do with the white balance. My camera has settings to adjust for direct sun, incandesent lamps etc to compensate for the light source that may not really be as white as you think it is. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

White balance. Yes that will most important to get the correct color. Many people have a color card in their camera bags. If not you can take a white sheet a paper and custom you wb with that. Your manual will show you how. It is very easy. I glad you got your lens. Let the fun begin.
