Fancy new oven |
|
|
ok, time to upgrade from the piece of crap oven that came with the new house... a Frigidaire (stupid name for an OVEN anyway) 4 coil, single oven white-and-black monstrosity. The stupid round coils must be turned to 8.5 or higher or they dont work. Put something like cookies in for the recommended time of 14 minutes, and half the pan gets burnt while the other half is barely even hot. And, since I'm a demanding cook, I can't do two different temps at once.
had enough, and going with this: Maytag Convection Double Oven with 5 Burner Glass-top. It has an extra large front burner so I can finally use 12'' and larger saute'/fry pans without having to shuffle the food, and it's got the warming zone. Dual convection ovens mean being able to cook pretty much whatever the hell I want whenever the hell I desire.

the bad news: doesn't come out for another 2 weeks yet, is only step#2 of the kitchen upgrade (already snagged a 28.5 cu. ft fridge... you can put other fridges INSIDE it), and lastly... it ain't cheap)
the good news: Lowe's is so close I can see it from my bedroom window and hear their PA system... so no delivery fee, the smaller than expected tax rebate + $100 gift certificate + my TV was replaced for no out-of-pocket cost so I don't have to spend more on that + the wife told me she put aside $600 just for a stove already = a far more affordable stove than I first though, and I live 5 blocks from the recycling center and they take whole appliances... so no haul away fee.
can't freaking wait.

Lowes also does free haul away when they deliver, so you don't even have to lug it to the scrap yard...

Congrats on the decision 10K. Lowes warranty works well, but you must call in to get the reciept registered for the time period. Very important, before you lose the reciept. f8
