I tested this OS out over a year ago when I was able to get my hands on the beta products through our technet subscription here at the office. I built it up on as a virtual computer on one of my servers and I ran it for about an hour, and after I saw it was designed more for touch screen and had to keep sliding things back and forth with my mouse, and the desktop didn't have a start menu but you got referred back to the stupid start sliding screen, I killed it and never started it up again. Its a waste of time! I don't see how my business users are going to use this much less home users without a touch screen.
Again I think its crap, I don't know how people are going to handle this.
MAC and Linux could see an influx on users from this confusion, its worst than the transition to Window Vista from XP if you ask me.
Everyone is going to be downgrading to Windows 7 from Windows 8, just like we saw everyone downgrade from Windows Vista to Windows XP.
Come on Microsoft really?
Build a OS strictly for touch screen devices and leave the regular computer OS alone.
Look at what Apple has done and copy them! You don't see them running their iPad/iPhone apps on their desktops and laptops do you, its just not efficient and convenient, they are two separate things and the two operating reflect the difference. Can you tell Microsoft pissed me off when I saw it?
Every other OS release was a flop. I still favor XP, will never use Vista, I am ok with 7, will never use 8, and will highly recommend that none of my clients use it on any of their machines.
