Last Sunday me and my buddy Harold drove south to the Belgian city Mons to see the happening called Tanks in Town. See: http://www.tanksintown.beIt started with a huge parade of over 150 (mainly) WWII vehicles and motorbikes. In the afternoon a re-enactment took place of a battle between American troops, supported by Belgian resistance, and the German troops. It was most impressive to see the dedication and enthusiasm of the people participating. Also we finally got to hold authentic WWII weapons, the ones we have been running around in COD1, 2 and 5, like BAR, Springfield, Thompson and Garand! That was a great experience, bearing in mind that even plastic replicas of guns (like BB guns) are strictly forbidden here in Holland and carrying or even possessing one could bring you in a court of law! Anyway, here are 74 pictures of the about 400 I took. Way cool, Amok! We have a WW II days at a small town in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley each summer, but nothing compared to what you saw. The clarity of the photos was outstanding and the variety of armor was very interesting. Thanks so much for sharing.

Tanks in Town is two days (Saturday and Sunday) in August. This was the tenth edition. On Saturday people can see the vehicles up close and even ride along in some of them. The parade and re-enactment is on Sunday.
