I went to see a christmas light show that is awesome.
This house is five minutes away from me and I can't believe he has been doing this since 2005 and I never heard of it.
Of course he is out in the country at the end of a small subdivision so you can't really see it when driving by.
I only heard about it because the local elementary school sent home a flier with info and my mother in law showed us the flier.
We will be going back every year, it was lots of fun.

Anyways it was awesome! 8-)
As you approach the house (within 1/4 mile), you tune your radio to FM 88.1 and listen to the music while watching.
Video is cool, but in real life is was very cool!

Here's a link to a video:

And there are some more videos and info on his website:

That is cool... The software he is using is probably "Vixen"... It's a free download, and they (along with all the forums I've read) estimate that it takes about 1 hour for every 10 seconds of music to get the sync pattern just right... If you figure he has 10 three minute songs (most are actually longer), he probably has an easy 180 hours invested in JUST doing the synchronizing... That doesn't include hanging lights, and setting everything up... Not to mention the expense... The SSR boxes are fairly expensive, unless you build them yourself, and even then they can be a bit pricey depending on how involved you get... Dimming costs even more than just on/off circuits...
