I really feel terrible right now.
I feel so sad and so disappointed in myself that I let the ever more demanding routine of life get in the way of making the time to be there for you like I once was.
All I can say is that you have been more a friend to me than I've been to you, Gene and that you have affected my life in a far more possitive way than I could ever have done for you.
I thank you for this.
I'll keep praying for you and your family.
I am truely sorry for being an ass.

Don’t apologize; there are times when we have all given up on life. When I have given up in the past, my friends and church family never did, and because of them and God’s Grace I am still here. On my own strength I was GONE! You are going through some VERY tough times and it is completely understandable to feel the way you do. I am sure none of us can truly imagine what you are going through, but our hearts do ache for you. Like I stated before, when you feel like you can’t fight anymore, know we are here fighting with you down on our knees and in our thoughts. When you can’t hold them in any longer, never be afraid to share negative thoughts. We are always willing to listen and help to the best of our abilities. We love you bro!

Gene, there is no need to apologize, my friend. You have every right to feel down from time to time. I am sure that your battle takes a lot out of you physically and emotionally. I'm not sure I could have fought it as well as you have. Like others have stated here, I am more than a little happy that you are continuing the fight. Just think of this message as my "virtual hug.
