I will save a knifing for yah in BF3.
How is the Rotty doing?
NOOOO not the knife! Take my wallet instead!
Tasha and Luke are both doing well. They started going to a clicker training class on Wednesdays and at the first class they were both the best ones in class.
Both are very smart, plus we bought a couple clicker dog training videos so we had a good headstart on the rest of the class.
They know these commands very well verbally or just by hand signals:
Come Here
Sit
Laydown
Shake Hands
Look- meaning for them to hold eye contact with us.
Bump- meaning to bump with there nose where we want.
Go Lay Down- meaning go to a specific spot and lay down.
Luke is not good with hands free leash walking. He wants to pull like a horse, and I am struggling with what I need to do to get him to learn to walk correctly.
Also Luke gets a little excited about the other dogs in class and doesn't want to eat his training treats. This ends up being okay because he actually likes attention more than treats.
So I just give him a few kind words and some petting and he will do almost anything at anytime. Kind of like MattBaker.
Interestingly Luke seems to not be paying attention frequently, yet he reponds perfectly to commands verbally and visually. So I guess he is paying attention even though he loves looking at the other dogs more than me.
Tasha is also doing very well and NEVER gets tired of snacks, which is probably why she weighs 130 pounds. Tasha does well on walks at home, but around other dogs she could use a little improvement on the hands free leash walking. She doesn't pull hard like Luke, but does stop and pull toward other dogs a little. Tasha gives amazing attention to us during training, again because she loves the treats. It is funny to watch how serious she gets at paying attention when she knows there are snacks. She gives great eye contact and gets extremely focused.
Some time soon I need to post some pictures so you can see how much better Luke looks since he is gaining weight. I was looking yesterday at some of his old pictures from when we first got him, and I was shocked at how much he has changed. He is looking very good now days.
